Soldiers at USAG Wiesbaden Deserve Better than Sub-Par Housing, Not Neglect
The Issue
I am a military spouse who refused to stay silent while soldiers and families at USAG Wiesbaden are forced to live in conditions unworthy of their service to this country. Our soldiers sacrifice everything to serve and protect the nation, yet those in leadership at USAG Wiesbaden and its supporting directorates have failed them in ways that are deeply shameful. They deserve better.
At Clay Kaserne, soldiers are crammed into barracks plagued with mold, broken plumbing, and structural decay. Maintenance requests go ignored for weeks, months, or longer, while abandoned vehicles and unkempt infrastructure make the grounds look neglected and forgotten. Leadership at the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) does the bare minimum: they cut grass and claim success, but the problems remain untouched. The most ironic insult is that the local Office of Inspector General (OIG) occupies sections of the barracks itself, while soldiers live in spaces that are cramped, unsafe, and unacceptable for any human being—let alone those who dedicate their lives to defending our freedom.
When I filed an ICE complaint in early August, I thought I was doing the right thing: standing up for soldiers who are suffering and holding leadership accountable for their failures. What happened next was a coordinated and retaliatory attack to silence me. I was:
• Fired from my job without justification.
• Barred from every U.S. military base in Europe, cutting off my ability to work or support my family.
• Targeted with a counterintelligence investigation—months later—with the clear intention of discrediting me and covering up their own failures.
My crime? Caring about soldiers. Speaking up for those who could not.
Since August, my family has been living through financial devastation. I’ve been without work, unable to pay rent, and have had to rely on emergency loans just to survive. My accounts are overdrawn, and my spouse and I often skip meals to ensure our two young children have enough to eat. I’ve been vilified, labeled as a threat, and shut out, all because I had the courage to demand better for the very people leadership is meant to serve.
This petition is not just about me—it’s about every soldier stationed at USAG Wiesbaden and their families. Leadership has forgotten that their duty is to care for and protect their people. Instead, they retaliate, they silence, and they turn a blind eye to the suffering around them. I am calling for all leadership at USAG Wiesbaden to be held accountable for their actions, including the:
• Directorate of Public Works (DPW) for neglecting maintenance and infrastructure.
• Directorate of Emergency Services (DES) for its retaliation and abuse of power.
• Base commander and his staff for failing to lead with integrity, transparency, and care for the soldiers they are sworn to serve.
These failures are not isolated incidents. They represent a systemic breakdown of leadership and accountability that directly harms the morale, safety, and well-being of those stationed here. Soldiers and their families deserve safe, dignified housing, clean and functional facilities, and leadership that values their sacrifice. Instead, soldiers live in mold-ridden barracks while leadership occupies better spaces. Families endure crumbling homes, unanswered maintenance requests, and subpar services. This is not acceptable.
The brave men and women of our military give everything to serve this country. It is unconscionable that they are forced to live this way while leadership remains comfortable and unaccountable. Soldiers cannot speak out without fear of reprisal, but I can. I will not be silenced. I will not stop fighting for them.
This fight is about more than my family’s suffering—it is about justice, fairness, and ensuring that those who serve are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. I am asking for your support to demand:
1. Immediate investigations into the retaliatory actions taken against me for speaking out.
2. Accountability for all leadership at USAG Wiesbaden, including DPW, DES, and the base commander’s office.
3. Improved living conditions for soldiers and families through real, lasting reforms to housing, maintenance, and infrastructure.
4. Transparency in leadership decisions and FOIA compliance to uncover the truth behind these failures.
Our soldiers deserve more than broken buildings, unanswered requests, and leadership that retaliates against those who stand up for them. They deserve safe homes, clean living spaces, and a community that respects their service. I stood up because I believe this can change. I believe that with enough voices, we can hold leadership accountable and demand the reforms that soldiers and families so desperately need.
Please stand with me. Sign this petition to demand justice, accountability, and change for every soldier and family at USAG Wiesbaden. Together, we can shine a light on these failures, expose the truth, and create a better future for those who serve us.
Our soldiers give their best every day—let’s fight to ensure they receive the best in return.
