Imagine it's your freshman year at SLU and you wake up at 7:00am to get ready for your 8:00am class. You're upset that you have to be up so early, but despite that you head down to Grand Dining Hall for breakfast. As you walk in, your attitude changes as you see an incredibly influential woman standing behind the register welcoming you with a smile. Ms. Mae has always had a way of making our days better and being especially supportive during midterms and finals. This is second nature to Ms. Mae and I think we can all agree that she has had a significant impact on our overall SLU experience.

Unfortunately, this might not last much longer. Ms. Mae has been offered a new job on SLU's Medical Campus working in SLU Hospital's Cafeteria. Her last day is scheduled for Wednesday October 16. SLU Hospital is offering her better pay and a new position. Sodexo is doing nothing to try and keep Ms. Mae in our dining hall and we all know how big of an impact she has had on all of us. We are all familiar with her famous quotes "you all are my babies" and "we're all a big family." What will it be like without her around our campus community? Let's try to avoid finding out!

Ms. Mae has expressed how much she loves this community as she is coming up on 10 years of working in SLU's dining halls. When she found out that Sodexo is doing nothing to try and keep her around, she was hurt. They are saying nothing more than "we don't want you to leave" yet they are doing nothing to show that they want her to stay. She feels sad, upset, and has expressed how badly she wants to stay with us. Please help to try and keep her around by signing this petition to demand that Ms. Mae receives some incentives from Sodexo to keep her in our dining halls so we can continue to see her bright, cheerful, loving personality day after day! We need your help and time is of the essence!
