My abusers admitted in 1984 that they regularly caused me physical harm. The authorities did everything to protect my abuser, even essentially dropping proceedings once an admission of guilt had be recorded. The effects of the abuse play a part in my daily life and I'm still suffering almost 40 years on. There was a failure to remove, and a duty of care that was not upheld. My case was swept under the rug and I can't be the only child who was failed by both parents and child welfare agencies. We deserve to be heard. In my casefiles it is clear that the only one not to receive protection was the most vulnerable party. Please, give myself, and others like me a chance to hold our abusers accountable.
