Online hate crime is not going anywhere and we can not go on any longer like this.

The fact of the matter is that it is far to simple to create a fake account on social media platforms which these people are hiding behind to abuse others.

We cannot hold these people accountable as we do not know who they are.

Now is the time for change, a change that should have been implemented a long time ago whereby social media platforms require  ID and address documents to be verified before a user can comment or post on the various platforms. This will iradicate the cowardly comments made on these accounts by people who do so knowing they cannot be punished.

For the minority of people who still choose to act in such manor, having had their account verified using their ID documents, we can begin to hold these people accountable for their actions and punish them accordingly.

Gambling websites require ID, now is the time social media sites do too.
