Make Kwek-Kwek the National Street Food of the Philippines!

Make Kwek-Kwek the National Street Food of the Philippines!
The Issue
Philippines is well-known for being patriotic. From having different and many Filipino Heroes that fought for the country’s freedom and democracy, down to assigning different national symbols to represent the country’s culture and values. In line with this, our team decided to add another category to the national symbols of our country to be able to provide a wider and deeper definition of what it actually means to be a Filipino. We are petitioning to make “Kwek-Kwek” the National Street Food of the Philippines.
It is impossible that a Filipino would not know about the famous Kwek-Kwek and the tourists who come to our country should know what a Kwek-Kwek is to be able to say that they certainly had a one-of-a-kind experience in the Philippines! You cannot say that you had the Philippine experience if you haven't had a taste of Kwek-Kwek the whole time that you're in the country.
We chose Kwek-Kwek to be the National Street food because it is seen everywhere and can be bought easily. In addition to that, it is attractive and enticing to the eye because of its bright orangey color and it looks less intimidating compared to the other street food that we have in the country (e.g. isaw, balut, Betamax, etc.)
We thought that it is also a good idea to add the category of National Street Food because it will benefit the local vendors that would boost their sales because this can somehow serve as a way in promoting Kwek-Kwek if the category of National Street Food is implemented and it is given this title. Surely, tourists and foreigners would love to try an authentic Filipino street food the moment that they come here to our country. It is an opportunity for the local vendors to take pride of what is originally and uniquely our own.
Hence, we insist that it is the time for every Filipinos to be as one and be with us as we aim the success of this movement to make the Kwek-Kwek our National Street Food! Kwek-Kwek is very close to our hearts (as well as our very hungry stomachs!) and it adds to our identity as a Filipino and as a nation.
What are you waiting for? Be a part of this big movement! Let us paint the town orange as we unite as one in pushing this petition!
