More positive news—real progress!: いいニューズ
1. The Japanese Ministry of health has revised its guidelines for elderly people in nursing homes to have more restrictions against body restraints. The changes will take effect on 1 April next year (2018). This is a huge step, and we hope they will continue their good works by restricting restraints in psychiatric hospitals as well. Here is the article in Japanese: https://jp.reuters.com/article/idJP2017120401002122
2. The South Japan Newspaper (南日本新聞)published an article in their print edition on Friday 8 Dec. particularly about Kelly but also describing the problems with restraints. We show the page above.
