The lack of snow removal in downtown Anchorage has affected businesses tremendously during heavy snow falls. The main issue has been Anchorage Downtown Partnership clearing the snow from the sidewalks into the parking spots on the road hoping that Street Maintenance will come and plow, but that most times doesn't happen for at least 48 hours leaving no available usable street parking and no access for delivery trucks. We are a small family run business. We rely on customers patronizing our business on a daily basis. This gets us through our slower non tourist months. Leaving downtown roads full of snow and leaving street parking spots unusable for usually 2-3 days equates to very little revenue. The goal of this petition is to provide a voice for customers and businesses regarding the negative affect of the current snow removal process. We all need a resolution to this issue. We want ADP and Street Maintenance to resolve this issue as soon as possible before businesses face being shuttered for good.
