The NHS have worked hard for years to encourage women to attend their 3 yearly smear tests. I know of countless women, including myself, for whom abnormal or pre-cancerous cells were detected in this way. We had treatment, and continue to get smears. 

It's far from being a pleasant experience, but the majority of us know how important it is - Jade Goody showed us that. 

Yet here we are, almost 13 years after her death from Cervical cancer, being asked to return for our next smear test in 5 YEARS. 

This is not acceptable, ladies. It's not as if we can just check our cervix for signs of cancer, like we can with other parts of our bodies.
