The Issue

We are a unified coalition of independent creators, e-commerce brands, agencies, and small business owners who rely on Meta’s platforms to reach our customers, grow our companies, and support our families.

On October 30, 2026, Meta is enforcing updated commercial and business terms of service. These new terms grant Meta the unilateral right to scrape our proprietary business websites, linked content, and commercial data to develop its artificial intelligence models.

There is no opt-out button. The only option Meta has given small businesses is to shut down our advertising accounts and leave the platform entirely.

For a small business, leaving Meta isn’t a simple consumer choice—it means losing access to our primary marketplace, cutting off customer acquisition, and risking our livelihoods. Meta is leveraging its massive market dominance to force small businesses into an unfair "land grab" of our data, intellectual property, and proprietary commercial insights.

What We Are Demanding:

An Explicit Opt-Out Mechanism: Meta must provide a clear, accessible toggle in all Business Managers allowing users to opt out of AI training use cases while keeping their advertising accounts fully functional.

Fair Content Licensing: If Meta wishes to utilize the proprietary commercial data, websites, or content of businesses to build its commercial AI infrastructure, it must establish fair, opt-in licensing frameworks rather than non-negotiable, forced terms.

We are launching this petition to count exactly how many small businesses are refusing these terms. The aggregated, anonymized data from this petition will be delivered directly to antitrust and competition regulators—including the FTC—to prove the severe economic harm and lack of commercial choice being imposed on independent enterprises.

Sign this petition to ensure your voice is counted. Your signature shows regulators that independent businesses refuse to be exploited.
