Change Sligo Ladies' County Finals

Change Sligo Ladies' County Finals

The Issue

The Sligo Ladies' County Finals were postponed from today, Saturday August 31st, until Sunday September 8th. This change was made 2 days prior to the finals and yet, another venue wasn't considered after many players and supporters booking the day off. Furthermore, many players have booked holidays around the given dates of the finals meaning they may miss the rescheduled final date.

Instead these matches will be played on a Sunday which doesn't suit students returning to college on Sunday and those working on the Monday morning, many who do not work in the county.

Furthermore, the finals have been fixed for Curry GAA which is not a neutral venue for any team. Dressing rooms would also have to be shared in Curry GAA which is unacceptable for a county final as 60 players would be occupying the one room at the same time. There are many other neutral venues with lights that should be available which would be able to hold all 3 finals - Junior, Intermediate and Senior.

The Sligo Ladies County Board continually lets the players down and it's time to start standing up to them.

Please sign this petition to get a suitable venue on next Saturday.
