In accordance with current laws in Alaska, sled dogs are treated as livestock. Unless it can be proven that veterinary care has been denied to animals, they are allowed to lawfully exist in utter squalor. The laws MUST change. In light of the Caswell 25 (where 25 dogs were abandoned to die without food) I am hoping to change the legislation that allows sled dogs to exist in squalor with little to no repercussions for humans who are found to be neglecting or abusing sled dogs. Please help me fight for change. 

Update: we have both local and national advocacy groups on board for this particular hoarding case, as well as local borough assembly members who have escalated this as high up (to our knowledge) as the mayor. Big push for state trooper involvement happening tomorrow. Please keep sharing and promoting- traction to save these 40 dogs and enact new legislation is growing. Change is coming.
