We, the undersigned , call on State Legislature to enact a law known as Skylar’s Law
We request that the Legislation require that any person who, upon arrest and questioning, admits to and is charged with any type of sexual offense to minors shall not be permitted to enter a lower plea to the courts OR have any contact with minors under age of 16 until they are found not guilty.
The aim of this Law would be to create a better protection for children from sex offenders .
When the sex offenders commit the crime, they hand a life sentence to their victims!!! We would like the State Supreme Court to consider the rights of the survivors of the sexual crimes, and the safety of the community in general. The consequences of the perpetrators actions upon the victim lasts a lifetime.
Those who admit to law enforcement that they committed a sexual based crime(s) should also reap the consequences of their actions for the rest of their lives. Furthermore, the safety of the community.... has been significantly eroded by allowing the offender to plead down in a court of law.
