Figures are at the core of any skill required in artistic roller skating, and absolutely deserve a place in the World Championships. For many skaters, it is the event to which they dedicate countless hours, as well as a tremendous amount of energy and focus. To take away the opportunity for these skaters to showcase their skill and efforts on the world stage is an injustice, and sends the message that figure skaters are less deserving of recognition than those who compete in the other disciplines. This of course is not true, which is why it is vitally important that figures regains its place at the World Championships.
