Skatepark Renovation

Skatepark Renovation
The Issue
My name is Luis current resident of Interlachen Fl ,as a skateboarder coming back from retirement after 15+ years , I have to say the local skatepark at Marry Wisham Park is well over due for renovation , while the ramps are in good shape the floor space seems to be wasted with inaccurate distance between the ramps making it hard to reach the necessary speed coming of the quarter pipes into the pyramid. Two possible ways that can be solved, either move the quarters closer or turndown/mellow the slope/elevation angle into the flat spot on the pyramid. In addition there's is plenty of room for a mini ramp with hip transfers on each side , just like the one in Starke Fl (about 30 miles north west ).
The grind box can definitely use and angle iron all the way across instead of a piece of flat steel mounted to the side , is hard to keep constant grind/slide velocity when all the wax , rain water ,dirt and sand falls right into the crevice between the top of grind box and that steel flat edge , plus is not in the most ideal location neither , having the grind rail quite close to it .The picnic bench is my absolute favorite obstacle , is fully grind able with plenty space to pick up speed on both sides(longs as the cracks on the floor don't slow you down) .
Lacks a skateable pyramid/fun box with the addition of an adjustable flat or round grind rail perfect for beginners as well as more season skaters. A fly box mated to a Spine next to it would be a great addition for those who like to catch some air while coming from a good fast Start box. There is so much more that could be added by simply re arranging the current structures and or simply re designing them to more suitable measurements. Lots of skateters have to drive miles way to find a decent park to skate and sometimes weather becomes a factor , others don't have the means to go more than 5 miles with out car pooling or catching rides trying to find a good spot to skate ,while we have the necessary space already in our own neighborhood .
Not only will re novating this park will get us locals a place to skate with out the need to find other places , it will also bring people to us, since the town is growing , I believe it will create a good revenue for the town itself , skaters will drive by us in either directions to go to the next town over to sleep in their motels ,visits their grocery stores and eat out ,while checking out skateparks ,I would love for them to come to us, give us a chance as well ,the town is growing quite fast in the last 2 years , they finish construction on s/r 20 and coming in a out has never been easier .
I have some ideas myself of skateparks I grew up around where simplicity was the main focus ,cost effective and easy maintenance.
There is also a pavilion , 2 ball fields a basketball court , huge soccer field in adherence to a calisthenics station and running trail as well .
I truly believe this can be a win win situation not just for the locals but travelers passing by as well ,new school year is around the corner an local kids may need alternate after school activities in the area decreasing the possibility to venture other locations and be back home in time, this can be quite the frustration for them as well as parents .
I believe all sports are good sports and sometimes we choose the odd ones ( roller blades, bmx, skateboarding ,scooters ,ect) . Needless to say is healthy for the mind and the body i believe physical sports and activity keeps us young ,sharp and focus. All i ask if for us to grow together as a community and give this generation and the following generations a chance and place to stay off the streets!
Thank you for your time
