There was a phone conversation I had yesterday that involved a quote or information on the 50,000 square foot space of skatepark, what it would cost. The builder I spoke to said it ranges depending on the area and lined up with the costs of square footage in the Skate Park project resources. I'm still trying to learn where to put my attention and who I need to continue the project and for it to be successful. The builder suggested that I open and form a non-profit organization, I am still waiting on feed-back from the parks and rec department whether or not she or anyone else from the department is able to be the treasurer for the funds, I'm probably going to have to post on craigslist to see if I can get some volunteers that are more skilled in fundraising than I am that would support the cause without any compensation. I'm hoping that soon I can start to raise funds so that I can get more awareness and build the necessary awareness so that the commission of Wildwood would hear that a skatepark is something that the community is talking about. There are rules and statutes involved when forming a non-profit organization, bylaws, board members president, vice president and things of that nature that are all surrounded by rules and regulations. Once I get word back from the Director, I can figure out what to do from there to start raising money. Grants will be available when the time comes for me to apply for them. No grants will be available to apply for until a 501c3 is formed and proper paperwork is submitted for its formation. That's the lates that I have as of right now. You'll be updated when the Director or any other development plans are set in place. Once funding is available the awareness can really propel forward by buying things that promote the skatepark, maybe even and office that is fully functional for its business conducting. So, I am hoping we can really get the project moving, remember there is only 2 people really working on it as of right. Me and the Parks & Rec Director
