The Time For Action is Now

December 5, 2016 Greetings Fellow SIUC BAG Alumni, We have secured a location for our BAG general meeting and it will hold over 250 people. I thank you all for being a part of this effort to unify our BAG organization. You will receive a copy of the BAG revised by-Laws from our 2015 business meeting. The goals of this meeting is to; 1. Strengthen and unify all factions of our alumni group and increase the fellowship and good will that’s unique to our group 2. Suggest ways to increase our scholarship awards beyond the book scholarship 3. Move forward the Ratification of our By-Laws that were revised for the 2015 General Meeting We are asking that you proceed with the following actions! We encourage each member on this petition to email, call or text another alumnus to ask them to sign this petition and add their voice to the call for unifying our BAG organization and re-focusing its purpose to that which the founders intended it to be. -We have set the meeting for Saturday, December 10th from 11:00 am to 3pm ; at St. Thaddeus Church Hall; 9540 S Harvard (95th & Harvard) and will provide a conference call line available depending on your response and availability -We are emailing the membership copies of the revised BAG By-Laws that were reviewed at our 2015 general meeting in order to re-read them, submit written suggestions and begin the ratification process at this general meeting -We want your suggestions for individuals who you think would serve on the inter-generational BAG reunion committee whose responsibility will be to plan all reunions and anniversary milestone celebrations. We are soliciting the membership prior to the general meeting for participation on this committee. The meetings will use conference call technology allowing everyone the opportunity to participate. - While every member will have the opportunity to read the revised By-Laws and present written proposals for changes, to vote in the ratification process you must be an active financial member. The annual alumni dues are $40 and your are covered for 365 days from the day you pay them. You can pay dues on line by going to the SIUC Alumni Association website. By paying this month your membership will be active during the 2017 Re-union event.
