Jack and Nala are two indoor/outdoor dogs that only roam a fenced-in backyard. Both dogs recently took an emergency visit to the vet yesterday afternoon. Jack could barely walk, was shaking aggressively, and was beginning to foam at the mouth. The first news we heard back was that Jack had a temperature of 107. Shortly after Jack was taken to the vet, Nala started showing the same symptoms. She was rushed to the vet shortly afterwords, before she could no longer stand on her own. Somehow, rat poison ended up in their system. These pups live in a house where animals are loved and cherished deeply, there’s no possible way rat poison would have been in there. Nala and Jack are still at the vet, neither of them have recovered, and they’re not looking great. They’re both heavily sedated, and still having seizures. They’re in critical condition. We don’t know what will happen with either of them for sure. Who in their right mind would want to purposely cause harm to an innocent animal? We believe someone purposely poisoned these dogs, not because they’re aggressive, or because they freely-roam the neighborhood; but because they tend to bark, like dogs do. We ask that you sign this petition to alert the Sioux City Police Department of what has happened, so that we can get some justice for Jack and Nala. Thank you. -Niya
