To get Singleton Council to subsidise animal desexing costs to reduce euthanasia rates
The Issue
Current kill rates are estimated to be around 40% in the Upper Hunter.
To encourage owners to desex their animals we seek the support of Singleton Council to offer a subsidy to low income earners.
It is important to educate owners about desexing which will in turn reduce the rate of unwanted or euthanized animals.
It is important to me as with this rate it could end up being any one of my own pets who end up euthanized.
