Requesting to consider stranded work pass holders who are fully vaccinated to return to Singapore directly from India. At the moment, direct entry from India for work pass holders are barred which has severely affected our lives and livelihoods. We have been stranded here for months and some, more than a year.

We have heard the cases where due to strict border control, many work pass holders had lost the job and employment status in Singapore which in turn resulted massive anxiety among rest of us and mentally impairing us day by day.

While we are fully vaccinated and ready to adhere Singapore protocol's on arrival, we are seeking assistance to help us return as we are continuously pounded by one or more of the following reasons,

1. Singapore based companies are disallowing us to work from India due to corporate or government tax related issues or others which has led to loss of pay for months which in turn hit us livelihoods heavily. As you may imagine, without salary how we could take care of us and our loved ones.

2. People are separated from family for months and in some case years. Pass holders who are in Singapore unable to travel from Singapore and vice versa. There are many who have not seen their newborn babies, elderly parents who needs regular medical care and their beloved kids and beloved ones. The border control has mentally and emotionally pummeled them.

3. Almost all work pass holders are unable to get their passes renewed which directly affects the employment and livelihoods.

At this time, we have only option to travel via 3rd country which poses great risk, especially with kids. We are facing a huge risk to go to a 3rd country from our own safe home which may lead to an infection and we will need to follow 3rd country protocols and wait for unforeseeable period which may also cost us hefty as being non-resident there. Secondly, the slots are easily taken since it is limited. We are thousands and thousands of stranded here so going through these uncertainty slot reservation month by month and year by year, we have almost lost our lives.

Being foreigners, we have gone through supreme trauma as you can imagine one side we are to take care of our family members remotely and other side have to maintain the job and income to help support the family. We hope our pain and mental state are well noted and are desperately waiting for lifting travel ban on India.

At the least, please allow vaccinated work pass holders to travel to Singapore directly from India just like Hong Kong and UAE etc so that at least we don't have to deal with mental pressure. Seeking your positive response soon.
