This is an appeal to the Singapore government and the Ministry of Manpower to look into extending paternity leave for fathers-to-be with pregnant wives who are due to give birth after Apr 2020. Pregnant mums with EDDs after Apr 2020 are affected by Covid19 as they cannot procure help like confinement nannies and full or part-time helpers. This will help to mums-to-be be able to cope with their new family member

Also, for mums-to-be who are considering if they should proceed with procuring external help, having Dads-to-be on extended paternity leave to lend a helping hand may mean less need for help from their extended family, such as parents or their in-laws, further reducing community spread of Covid19 with lesser contact.
