We are greatly encouraged that Andy Burnham’s office is engaging with us regarding our campaign for justice and reform surrounding childhood sexual abuse crimes.
we have a meeting planned on June 3rd with Mayor Andy Burnham & also deputy Mayor Kate Green. Given the current political situation we know that this meeting is subject to change.
For many survivors, being listened to by public figures and decision-makers is something that has been absent for far too long. These conversations represent far more than discussion — they reflect a willingness to hear directly from those who have lived through abuse, institutional failings, and the lifelong impact these crimes continue to have.
Survivors are not only seeking acknowledgement; they are seeking meaningful change.
That change must include stronger victim support, improved safeguarding, better investigative procedures, greater accountability, and reforms in how historical abuse cases are handled by institutions and the criminal justice system.
The willingness to engage directly with survivors and campaigners demonstrates leadership, compassion, and recognition that survivor voices matter. Open dialogue with those affected firsthand is essential if future generations are to be better protected and if confidence in justice systems are to be rebuilt.
For many survivors who have spent years feeling unheard, dismissed, or overlooked, these conversations offer hope that real dialogue can finally lead to meaningful action and lasting reform.
