Get Rid of the Unreasonable Helmet Law for Happy Valley Skate Park

Get Rid of the Unreasonable Helmet Law for Happy Valley Skate Park
The Issue
As of July of 2018, every person who uses the Happy Valley city skate park is required to wear a helmet. No matter what age, they must wear a helmet. As a teenager who has been skating his whole life, and for a large majority of that time, at this skate park, I feel (along with many others) that this is very unreasonable. Every person who has even minimal experience skateboarding knows how to protect themselves from falls and even head trauma. Especially in a controlled area with is what this skatepark is. I believe that anyone over the age 13 should be able to skate without a helmet if they choose, and if not, then they shouldn't be punished. The city is handing out $500 fines left and right to KIDS, and that is something that I think everyone can agree is ridiculous. If these kids can't skate freely in this skatepark, where else can they go? They'll end up skating in the street with is where the real danger is.
