Hi Neighbours,

Quick update on the Headstone South Low Traffic Neighbourhood following the TARSAP meeting on Monday.

So TARSAP is an advisory panel but I think it is unusual for the council leader to go against its recommendations.

TARSAP has recommended LTN-02 Headstone South proceed to implementation before the end of September, with the proviso that two comments raised by Councillor Simon Brown are addressed to our local councillors' satisfaction.

The two comments were [paraphrased] - (1.) Could the filter at the north end of Pinner View next to Bolton Road be removed from the scheme initially, and put back in if the traffic is still bad after a period of time.  (2.) Could the officers please obtain a positive response from the emergency services confirming this will not impact their response times.

Half of the other proposed 8 LTNs were halted by their ward councillors during the meeting and are now unlikely to go ahead, so it is good that Headstone South was not one of these. I did however get the sense that it was a near thing, and anyone who wrote to the councillors in support or posted a positive comment on the Streetspaces consultation portal definitely made a huge difference, so thank you so much for doing this.

I will post a longer update later on with some more details from the meeting that may be of interest, as well as some thoughts on Simon's comments, but just wanted to let you know as soon as possible the main headlines from last night.

Hope you are managing to keep cool in the heat!

Emma
