Create a low-traffic neighbourhood in Headstone South, Harrow
0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!
The minor residential roads in Headstone South (such as Pinner View) should be quiet and pleasant places to live, but they suffer from too much through traffic. Many of the people who drive through do not live in the area. Traffic noise and pollution is bad for people’s health, and traffic danger puts people off healthy activities such as walking and cycling.
We therefore call upon Harrow Council to implement a low-traffic neighbourhood in the area bounded by Headstone Gardens, Parkside Way, Station Road (North Harrow), Pinner Road and Harrow View. Low traffic environments have been created successfully in other parts of Harrow, and in other boroughs such as Waltham Forest.
We call upon the council to close minor roads to motor vehicles at key points to prevent them being used as shortcuts, while allowing access to properties. This will create a safe and pleasant street environment, allowing people to travel on foot or by cycle (including adapted cycles, wheelchairs, cargo bikes and mobility scooters), improving people's health and quality of life.
If you are a Harrow resident, please sign this petition and encourage your friends, family and neighbours to do so too.
P.S. We are also collecting signatures on a paper petition - please sign one or the other but not both, so that signatures can be counted accurately.
