This is a call to action for the Board of Trustees at Simmons University to disclose the university's investment portfolio and to divest all direct and indirect holdings in the top 200 publicly-traded fossil fuel companies.

Divestment is a form of resistance wherein stockholders sell their shares in a company to demonstrate a lack of support in the company's actions and values.

This is a critical action for Simmons and for the future of the planet. The fossil fuel industry has demonstrated a blatant disregard for the future of the planet and all of its inhabitants; continued investment into this industry will have detrimental effects on all women, people of color, and disabled individuals who will be those most impacted by the climate crisis.

The university claims to support people of color and women, but climate change disproportionately affects these populations. Without action, the pillars of diversity and acceptance that Simmons University claims to display are hollow.
