Nurses must advocate for their patients and follow hospital policy. Once more, ED nurses are first responders too. We deserve the same rights and respect as our police officer, fire fighter and EMS brothers and sisters. Officer Payne's actions show abuse of power and will not be tolerated by the nursing community. He clearly has an anger management issue and is unable to deal with situations objectively. As this is a requirement of his job as an officer of the law, we believe he is no longer fit for duty.
