NECSD Students, Educators, Parents and Community Members in Support of Dr. Padilla

NECSD Students, Educators, Parents and Community Members in Support of Dr. Padilla

The Issue

This Tuesday, June 21st, Newburgh community members, students, educators, and parents are invited to join us for a SILENT RALLY at NFA Main Campus before the BOE meeting to show support for Dr. Roberto Padilla and to encourage NECSD Board of Education Members to extend his contract.

Because our mission is to keep the best interest of our students in mind, we have chosen a SILENT RALLY to avoid detracting from the celebration of students also happening at the BOE meeting at NFA that night; proud parents will be attending to see our scholars receive awards for their outstanding achievements this year and we do not want to diminish those accomplishments. However, our message must be "heard" and the objective of the rally is simple: to show our solidarity in supporting Dr. Padilla as the NECSD Board Members prepare to vote on whether or not to extend his contract. To that end, we are asking all community members, students, teachers and parents who support Dr. Padilla's work to please arrive at 5:30 wearing blue and gold to stand in solidarity outside of Newburgh Free Academy. We will provide banners to convey our message and media coverage. You are also invited to attend the meeting following the rally.

We thank you for your continued dedication our youngest community members.
