Silent Fireworks for Tucson, Arizona

Silent Fireworks for Tucson, Arizona
The Issue
The animals shelters in Southern Arizona are continually overcrowded. We believe that it will take a multitude of solutions to help this problem become a thing of the past.
Two of the biggest intake periods at area shelters are the days immediately following July 4th and January 1st obviously due to the fireworks. Pets become paranoid and bolt which leads to unnecessary deaths and often, many of them finding themselves at already jam-packed shelter systems.
Earlier this year, our team began to research and found that a town in Italy has successfully integrated Silent Fireworks as a way of protecting animals. The compassionate citizens of Collecchio passed a law in 2015 that requires all fireworks to be silent in order to reduce the stress on both domestic pets and wildlife. Our leadership wholeheartedly believes that we can bring this here.
We are now working with various organizations in our area to bring forth a collective effort in hopes of making Tucson the first Silent Firework City in America to protect not only our domestic animals and wildlife but also for our veterans with PTSD, people who have been victims of gun violence and children on the Autism spectrum. This also will include the inclusion of Drones. Drone Light Shows are another excellent option to mitigate the negative effects and loss that traditional firework shows cause.
We love the Fourth of July. We love New Years. But we dread the harmful consequences each holiday brings each year due to the unnecessary stress the noise of fireworks bring.
In order to do this, we need your support. Please sign and share this petition as a means of taking a stand to protect the vulnerable members of our community. More information to come in the coming months, but signing this petition is a great start. Let's stand together to get this done.
