The Issue

Our Historical Salem Park Barn is in jeopardy of being torn down. This building has played an important and significant role in our commUNITY for over a century. It first served as a barn for the Salem Industrial Home for Girls’ gardening in 1899.  It was dedicated by the Daughter’s of the American Revolution and the Salem Bicentennial Committee as the “Greenbriar Billy Davis Barn” and would serve as a “lasting memorial” to Salem’s first Revolutionary War Veteran.

Currently, the City of Salem, is wanting to demolish this part of Salem’s history. There are so many possibilities that we could utilize this space for and have applied for grants to save it but, we need YOUR help, and we need it NOW!  Stop this senseless demolition of this historical monument. Please consider signing our petition to stop and reassess what can be done…. before it’s too late.
