We already have 205+ supporters! Jill says "I want more affordable and available housing in Seattle. Let's make it possible for young adults to rent or buy in the city in which they were raised. Read this petition -- lots of good ideas that can help address the housing problems in Seattle." Hans says "Seattle needs more housing and living opportunities. This is a moral and pragmatic imperative. Ideas like these would provide more tools and opportunities to fill that need. Our policy visions need to match the scale of the problem. 50k units in 10 yrs is a start, but doesn't go far enough when looking at population growth trends and projections, and the low carbon footprint unique to habitation in Seattle." 1. Please share the petition with your networks. 2. Email your comments to: ADUEIS@seattle.gov 3. Show up this Thursday, October 26, 2017, 6:00–7:30 p.m. Location: Hale’s Ales (in the Palladium), 4301 Leary Way NW, Seattle, WA 98107 At the community input open house on Thursday from 6-7:30 pm a small group of dissenting community members from Wallingford, plan to wear all black clothes in an attempt to derail the meeting. They have had an overabundance of opportunities to connect to city officials about their concerns and have spent a lot of money on anti-HALA yard signs which misinform neighbors. Please do not wear black if you support this ADU petition and a welcoming, climate resilient future. It will accidentally signal you support voting NO on critical amendments that a broad coalition of pro-future folks support related to the city's comprehensive plan. Wear bright cheerful colors and bring friends and family to the meeting. Thanks for your help!
