November 12, 2022 - A Community Meeting was held at Ortega Park in which the Parks & Recreation Department did a presentation depicting improvements to the proposed pool. This pool will provide area residents more aquatic opportunities than any previous designs did. We can certainly declare victory when the pool is built!
However, the community has had very little opportunity to provide input on the design of the aquatics facilities, for example to be offered a workshop on the design of the facilities where the City actually listens and incorporates our ideas into the design (similar to how the skateboard community was treated).
The facilities need more space - It's going to be tight.
But we have reason to celebrate, regardless.
