Dear Council of Rockaway Borough, New Jersey,

I am writing this petition to seek your support in opening up my recreational cannabis retail business, Sugar Leaves LLC, in our Home town. As a medical cannabis patient myself, I understand the struggles and challenges faced by individuals who rely on this plant for their well-being. It is time we raise awareness surrounding small minority cannabis businesses like mine and provide easier access to recreational marijuana for those who need it.

Growing up in Rockaway, I have always considered this place my home. I got my first job here, attended school here, and I even started my first business within these very streets. Now, I want to give back to our community by opening a dispensary that not only provides quality products but also contributes towards the betterment of our town.

Despite having obtained necessary licensing for my cannabis business i am facing an unexpected obstacle as the town administration is only allowing two licenses. This setback not only affects me personally but also hinders the progress and potential economic benefits that could be brought about by a small business within the cannabis communities.  

I have spent countless hours and invested thousands of dollars trying to secure a suitable location within the designated zone for a dispensary. Thankfully, Rockaway has shown its support through a resolution and the state has granted me an annual license. With your help in signing this petition, we can urge the Rockaway council to allow one more license for my cannabis business.

Why is it important? Many towns have opted out of allowing dispensaries within their boundaries, making it incredibly difficult for thousands of people to find accessible locations to make their dispensaries. By having a dispensary right here in Rockaway Borough, we can ensure that patients no longer have to travel long distances or face unnecessary obstacles just to get their medication.

I firmly believe that by opening a cannabis business in Rockaway Borough, i can make a positive impact on the lives of others who may be seeking alternative treatment or simply looking for safer access to this natural remedy.

Furthermore, as part of my commitment towards giving back to our community, I pledge that 3% of my company's profits will be donated to Rockaway Borough directly towards building necessary structures aimed to educating our community about the benefits of cannabis. My personal journey began after experiencing a life altering car accident that left me physically injured and emotionally scarred. Traditional medical treatments failed to provide relief from my chronic pain until I discovered the therapeutic properties of cannabis and how this miraculous plant not only alleviated my physical suffering, but also helped improve my mental well being ; now it's time we help others experience similar transformations.

By signing this petition, you are not only supporting the opening of Sugar Leaves LLC, cannabis business in Rockaway, but also advocating for fair opportunities for minorities and  small businesses within cannabis communities. As well as creating an environment that fosters growth, education and economic prosperity while ensuring responsible use and adherence to all state and town regulations and accessible healthcare options for those in need. Let us come together as a community and embrace the positive impact that this industry can bring to our town.

Please join me in urging the Rockaway Borough council and officials and the people of Rockaway to allow Sugar Leaves to be granted one more license. Together, we can make a difference, your support will not only benefit our local economy, but ensure that our fellow residents have access to safe and reliable medical marijuana right here in Rockaway Borough.
