Dear Middletown Teachers, Staff, and Administrators,

We know that you are working harder than ever, in the most challenging circumstances of your career so far. And while this pandemic and all the subsequent challenges of hybrid+virtual+in-person education have taken a toll on all of us, they have also opened our eyes.

The good you bring to our kids' lives goes so far beyond academics. You create confidence and stability, you help instill values and work ethic, you make them feel valued and important, you broaden their understanding of the world around them, and you help equip them to interact with that world. We have learned that while as parents it will always be our responsibility to raise our kids and raise them well, we could not do it without you.

As the song goes, "You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone." Now we know what we've got, and we will never take 5 day, full-time, in-person school (or you!) for granted again. Thank you for all that you do, and we all look forward to getting back to 'normal', whenever that may be!
