Popular Victorian Upper House MP Moira Deeming is stepping up to sponsor our official Parliamentary petition! Moira agrees: no living MP should get a statue—especially not one tied to serious accusations of human rights violations and overstepping the law. Moira will have more to say in Parliament.

Change.org vs. Parliamentary Petition: What’s the Deal?

Parliament doesn’t recognise change.org petitions (annoying, right? Maybe that’s my next campaign!). But that’s why we’ve been building momentum here first. With your incredible support, we’ve hit the numbers we need—15,000 strong!—to take this to the next level. 

What’s Next?

In just a few days, I’ll launch the official Parliamentary petition with Moira Deeming’s backing. When it’s live, I’ll send you the link and ask you to sign it and spread the word.

Once we hit 10,000 signatures there (and with 15,000 here, I know we’ve got this!), Moira will present it in Parliament, where it’ll get the full official process and media it deserves.

Why Now? Why Not Wait?

Some folks asked, “Why not hold off until the 2026 election when we might have a new Premier?” Simple: if Labor senses they’re on the way out—and they might be—they could rush this statue through, and at a cost of $100,000 of our money, plus upkeep costs.
