Petition updateSign For LadyBiker Carol IanDay 3 In Custody

It's day three of the ordeal. Lady Biker Carol and her mother have spent three nights in custody. They are currently in the King'ong'o Prison (remand) in Nyeri. As far as we know and to the best of my knowledge, her only "crime" is riding superbikes with a backpack. Yes, it's that ridiculous.
Motorcycle riders have to carry backpacks unless for those with paniers and/or top boxes. Some cops allegedly used that as grounds to storm a Biker's home impromptu/unannounced to search for drugs or illegal substances without any court orders or search warrants. Carol allowed them to search everywhere within their property in protest. Their rights were grossly violated and most of the ordeal was transmitted live on Facebook. The cops found absolutely nothing illegal. Of course it must have been frustrating and it should have ended at that.
However, the said cops decided to take punitive measures against Carol and her mother for protesting their arbitrary misconduct. They arrested them and arraigned them in court to face trumped up charges. We all know how that goes. Most of us , including me have been victims of such police officers. How can two females, one of whom is an elderly woman assault heavily armed Police officers who grossly outnumbered them? I'll leave that up to your imagination.
Some of the videos which had been recorded during the incident were deleted without consent. There seems to be deliberate efforts to cover up what transpired. But we must take action regardless.
Upon being arraigned in court, Carol and her mother were charged separately (two different case numbers) instead of jointly despite everything arising from the same incident in what seems like a bid to dilute their defence. The court set some really high cash bail for their release (at 300k for Carol and 100k for Veronica, Carol's mother) and inexplicably failed to issue them with an option to post bond with sureties, a very unusual decision under the circumstances. I am following up on this.
This is a clear case of unfair dispensation of power and injustice against a fellow biker. Carol has been a very resourceful member of our community. She's one of the most well known female bikers in East Africa. She's demonstrated that passion for motorcycles, if done well, can make a difference and inspire many. Riding the most powerful superbike 1443cc regularly on Kenyan roads with a good safety record for so many years is no small fete either. I know that I wouldn't dare. Of course it has attracted her to loads attention including from our current president and that makes a few people choose to hate
Let's help our sister out. Not because we are her best friend but because this is a clear case of injustice. We've seen naysayers attempting to sabotage the funds drive in vain. So far we've managed to raise 39,172 and I send daily MPESA statements from the till number to Carol's sister for transparency...the phone numbers of the we'll wishers are automatically redacted for privacy (only I can see the full phone number). We must keep trying to help because a friend in need is a friend in deed. To help, please use the designated MPESA Till Number as follows:
Kennedy Koome & Company Advocates
MPESA Buy Goods Till Number: 5475287
Please spare whatever you can to help our sister and her mother out. Till numbers, unlike phone numbers are easy to manage and the records of the contributions and I guarantee that I'll transparency throughout this process. Thanks for helping me deal with naysayers in the previous post. May God bless you all in abundance.
