The King of Jordan Abdullah II, announced today that his country would not be renewing an article in the agreements appendix, which granted Israel the right to cultivate tracks of land near Tzofar and Naharayim in the southern and northern ends of the Arava desert.

The cancelation of this clause provides Israel with an unprecedented and historic opportunity in regard to restoring Jewish Prayer on the Temple Mount!

The agreement signed in 1994 does not even make explicit mention of the Temple Mount, only stating the following in Article 9: 

"Israel respects the present special role of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Muslim Holy shrines in Jerusalem...The Parties will act together to promote...freedom of religious worship, and tolerance and peace"

By banning Jewish prayer and worship at the Temple Mount, the State of Israel went far beyond respecting the "special role" of Jordan and worse negated latter stipulation of protecting "freedom of religious worship."
