Sidwell Friends School does not allow its rowing team to have Varsity status; that is, although the team practices for as many hours as any other team, participates in the same number of prestigious competitions, and has one of the larger rosters among girls teams, rowers are not allowed Varsity letters, Coach's awards, or the SFS award. Although the school does not provide any financial or administrative support to the team either, we are starting small: Please allow Sidwell rowers to be eligible for athletic awards (varsity letters, SFS and Coach's awards, etc.).
