Cow is an animal held sacred in Hinduism and given the status of mother. In fact, in many ancient Hindu kingdoms killing a cow was a punishable offence. Why not in modern day India? Simply because we are a democracy? I don't find it to be a sufficient reason. While Hinduism views almost all animals as sacred, teaches against killing them and even worships them in some way or the other (snakes as Nag, monkeys as Hanuman etc) the status of the Cow is wholly different. Cow being treated as the most immaculate animal in Hindu culture & worshiped by most of the Hindu people. I have started this to put an end on slaughtering of cows but without the help of citizens of India this won't be possible. With all your support we can make a difference and help cows live longer and die a natural death.
