Four Lane Project in Hemavaty catchment area which is tributary of Cauvery in Chickmagalur District .

Shishila - Byrapura Road : New 4 lane project in chickmagalur Eco Sensitive western ghats given green signal by Union Road and transport ministry will result in chopping 35,000 trees , including small ones may be more than 1 lakh trees . This project is alternate road to connect Shishila(Mudigere) - Byrapura( Dakshina Kannada) District . This project is unnecessary because there is already Charmadi Ghat and Shirardi ghat which runs parallel to this proposed road to connect Mudigere and Dakshina Kannada . National highway contractors and Timber lobby is pushing this project and get Green clearance. This road will divide wildlife corridor . The survey is already done and preparation of DPR is in final phase .

This area is rich in Wildlife . Animals and reptiles present here are Elephant , Tiger , Bison , King Cobra etc .

Request people of Bengaluru to join our hands to fight against this destructive project rather than blaming Tamil Nadu for sharing cauvery water.
