The Issue

Persistent pattern of violence and lawlessness that has plagued our neighborhood.

We, the residents of Austinburg, live in constant fear due to the dangerous and illicit activities surrounding this establishment. The Corner Bar has become synonymous with a litany of illegalities such as drug abuse and trafficking, underage drinking, and even more horrifyingly, sexual assaults. Reports of weapons being found, police sirens blaring incessantly, and the aggressive noise pollution until 2:30 AM every night have made our community a battleground rather than a peaceful home.

Law enforcement presence is a nightly occurrence, yet the crimes continue unabated. The bar's management appears indifferent to these threats, with little to no accountability for the environment it has fostered. Families, including mine, do not feel safe in what should be a secure neighborhood. Children are forced to witness or hear violent altercations, and adults live with the constant fear of becoming the next victim.

This spiral of violence and misconduct must end. We propose the immediate shutdown of the Corner Bar to restore peace to Austinburg. It is vital for our local authorities to step up and take decisive action to secure our safety, hold the offenders accountable, and prioritize the well-being of our community over profit motives.

We urge the city officials and law enforcement agencies to prioritize the investigation into these recurring issues at the Corner Bar. Closure of this establishment is a step towards reclaiming our neighborhood from the grip of fear and violence. Let us restore safety, peace, and dignity to Austinburg.

Please join us in our fight for a safer community. Sign this petition and make your voice heard. Together, we can demand change and ensure a better future for our families and friends.
