Shut Down the Delaware Pet University for Pet Safety

The Issue

I write this with a heavy heart, as a pet parent who has felt the pain of losing a beloved companion far too soon. Tragically, a significant number of pets under the care of Delaware Pet University Dog Daycare have lost their lives prematurely. This raises serious questions regarding their level of care, and competency in ensuring pet safety.

To provide accurate context, Delaware Pet University Dog Daycare had a death rate of roughly 8% in 2021, according to data from the Delaware Department of Animal Welfare. This is an alarming rate when compared to the 2% standard in most credible pet care institutions. The frequency of these unfortunate incidents makes it difficult to see these as isolated cases, thereby pointing towards a potential systemic issue.

As pet owners, we strive to provide the best for our little friends, ensuring they receive proper care and attention. Unfortunately, many families in Delaware have experienced the heart-wrenching loss of their pets under the watch of Delaware Pet University Dog Daycare. The loss is not only devastating but also brings into question the survival of future pets in their care.

Both we and our pets deserve better. It's time to demand that Delaware Pet University Dogdaycare ups their standards to ensure the safety of the animals under their care or be closed down. This decision will potentially save numerous pet lives in the future, and prevent families from experiencing the anguish of premature pet loss.

We urge you to sign this petition and demand state-level interventions to ensure the safety of our pets. We cannot afford to be silent in the face of this violation. They need our voices. Sign this petition today.

Edit: This petition has no direct contact with the family of the victims and there is no money being collected on their behalf via this petition.
