Shut Down Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary

Shut Down Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary
The Issue
Animals deserve better. It's heartbreaking to know that in Farmington, WI, the Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary, which brands itself as a haven for animals, operates more like an exploitive roadside zoo. This sanctuary’s failure to meet the standards for accreditation by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS) or the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) are glaring red flags. A true sanctuary focuses on the well-being of its animals, not on breeding them or exploiting them for profit.
The plight of the animals held at Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary is dire. There have been distressing reports of neglect and mismanagement, most notably the preventable tragic death of tiger cubs which the facility happily capitalized on by launching a GoFundMe campaign, raising nearly $20,000. This behavior is not indicative of a sanctuary focused on conservation or animal welfare, but rather an enterprise fixated on financial gain.
Wildlife sanctuaries should be a refuge for animals, offering safety and a suitable habitat that mirrors their natural environment. But, the practices at Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary fall disturbingly short of this standard. These animals, already displaced from their natural habitats, deserve humane treatment and progressive care.
It's time for a change. We must demand that Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary be held accountable and that their operations be suspended until they can prove they are truly prioritizing animal welfare. If they cannot reform to meet global sanctuary standards, permanent closure should be the outcome.
Please join us in sending a clear message—we will not stand by while animals suffer. By signing this petition, you are advocating for the welfare and dignity of these animals. Add your name today to propel this movement forward and help us ensure a compassionate future for all creatures confined within the Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary.
