The Issue
Orcas, dolphins, whales, and other animals suffer daily from the abuse that they endure at SeaWorld. The tanks and pools are not regularly cleaned, causing health issues. Dolphins and orcas are in pain from biting and slamming themselves into the concrete walls, trying to get out of the tiny tanks they are in. The orca tanks are less than 40 feet deep, and they are forced to swim in circles all day because they have no room. SeaWorld has stated that they are ending their orca breeding program (Smithsonian Magazine), but that still doesn't change how much the twenty-one orcas at the 3 SeaWorld locations in the United States suffer. Every single animal there needs to be taken out and put in either seaside sanctuaries or ethical aquariums. These parks need to be shut down. They have been open for way too long. These beautiful creatures do not deserve to be treated the way they are. Many of the animals shown at SeaWorld are already endangered, and this billion-dollar company is contributing to it. These parks have been an issue for over 60 years, and they will continue to hurt animals if action is not taken. Their living conditions need to change. Although they are not able to go back into the wild, they deserve to have a good quality of life, one that is not inside these parks. I advocate for ocean animals every single day and they deserve more than they get. They’re stunning creatures who have done nothing wrong. The ocean and its animals mean so much to me, and seeing them in so much pain is sad to see. We need to raise awareness and empty the parks! If you know anyone in California, Florida, or Texas, please share this petition with them and tell them to spread the word! The more voices there are, the bigger impact we can make! I greatly appreciate all of you who have signed this petition and shared it. I cannot thank you guys enough!! 🤍🦈
