Shut Down SeaWorld and Release All Orcas and Other Sea Animals from Captivity

The Issue

I've always been fascinated by the ocean, its magnificence and mystery. To me, it feels like home and the creatures that inhabit it, part of my family. Witnessing loved ones in distress is always painful. For me, the distress of the sea animals, specifically orcas, held captive in places like SeaWorld, is akin to seeing my own pet suffer in confinement.

Around the world, 61 orcas are held in captivity, out of which, 20 are at SeaWorld's various locations (World Animal Protection, 2020). This practice is inhumane and harmful as these beautiful creatures are not suited for captivity. Orcas are intelligent and social species that travel as much as 100 miles a day in the wild, but in captivity, they are confined to small tanks where they can merely swim in circles (Humane Society International, 2019). Mental and physical stress caused by this captivity often leads to aggressive behavior and lifespan reduction.

We need to end this cruelty now. We demand that SeaWorld be shut down, and all captive orcas and other sea life be rehabilitated and released back into the wild where they truly belong. We don't just request, we insist that marine creatures' rights be respected.

Sign this petition and help liberate these creatures from their unfair imprisonment. Let's ensure they get back their rightful home, the vast, uncontainable ocean. Please lend your voice to this noble cause.
