SHUT DOWN Save All Dogs Rescue “Non-Profit” CT
The Issue
We had been looking to add a new member to our family for a while, and I came across the Save All Dogs Rescue Non-Profit in CT., I checked their reviews which seemed ok. They had an adorable cocker spaniel mix who I fell in love with at first sight and rushed over to adopt. I had previously adopted my dog Jack from the Humane Society, and knew the process to be a rewarding and wonderful experience. My experience could not have been farther from that at S.A.D. (Accurate acronym).
First thing, all of the puppies were in one big cluster which seemed dangerous. Second, our puppy sneezed during our adoption and I questioned it and was told that she was vet checked and negative for kennel cough and that it was probably just from the straw they use. I signed all of the forms, paid the fee and went home. Once home we noticed her sneezing was frequent and rushed her to our vet. They said that SAD rescue is notorious and that it was good we brought her in. We got her on antibiotics and were told that anything respiratory is very dangerous in puppies but hopefully she will pull through. She continued to fall ill and ended up having to be admitted to critical care as oxygen dependent 3 days after adoption. The vet techs and receptionists at pieper all rolled their eyes when we told them where we rescued her from. I felt duped and now know that this place is a front for promotion of puppy mill puppies and their leftovers, with no liability as they thoughtfully cloak themselves as a non-profit… while clearly making a profit at the rate they push puppies weekly I have since discovered. This place is worse than a pet store, they not only promote the suffering of animals, but also take advantage of loving families as well with no true warning, recompense or empathy. Worst of all our poor Lady had to be euthanized as she never even stood a chance at survival because she was infected with an antibiotic resistant pneumonia that even “big gun” antibiotics wouldn’t effect. We were left with vet bills totaling over $10,000 dollars as well as emotional trauma from our loss and the rescue treated us as if we deserved this suffering for not bringing them back to them to treat. I know we are not the only ones who have fallen prey to this business because I found out in Massachusetts they were shut down for the same horrific practices of selling sick puppies, promoting puppy mills, and claiming no liability and paying no taxes!!!!! WE CAN AND WILL DO BETTER CONNECTICUT! Don’t allow this to happen to your family and don’t give them money to continue to allow animals to suffer and die for their profit!
