I was once a resident at Sandy Pines Residential for Youth in Florida, and the memories haunt me to this day. I experienced firsthand the beatings, the neglect, and the overall unsafe environment that defines this facility. Sandy Pines, located in Tequesta, Florida, is supposed to be a place where troubled youth can find help and healing. Instead, it has become a place of fear, danger, and despair.
