After recently watching a documentary about Danny and Ron's Rescue Shelter in SC, I was inspired and moved to start doing all that I can to start shutting down stores like Petland as well as Puppy Mills. However, Petland specifically is a large company and I am unsure of the first steps you would take in order to have them investigated and shut down completely. I would like this petition to serve as proof of peoples' support for shutting down this disgusting company and how they treat and regulate their animals. I plan on using this petition and/or many others (if necessary) when I start contacting authorities and reaching out to whoever I have to in order to get these animals out of these abominable living situations and into homes without having to pay thousands of dollars just to save them. Shelters only charge maybe less than $200, usually under $100 to rescue one of their dogs. It is clear to almost everyone that they are obviously overcharging in order to make a profit and continue buying cute but overbred puppies from the mills. Stores like these purchase all types of "perfectly cute" dogs from puppy mills, as well as breeders, which in return supports the torture within the puppy mills and causes those mills to keep overbreeding their animals. This leads to health issues with the pups which causes them to have a lower quality of life. I'm doing this for these poor animals and to stop the flow of money into companies like these. Please help the pups and kitties!
