The Issue

MBR is Marshall BioResources, an American company which owns MBR Acres, an industrial puppy breeding facility in Wyton, Cambridgeshire.

As individuals deeply concerned about animal welfare, we have been personally affected by the operations at MBR Acres. This facility is known for using beagles in their animal testing procedures, a practice that we believe is not only unethical but also unnecessary. Science has made significant advancements, and there are now alternatives to animal testing that do not involve causing harm or suffering to living creatures.

Beagles are often chosen for laboratory tests due to their docile nature and size. However, these characteristics should not be exploited for scientific purposes. According to the Humane Society International, millions of animals suffer and die in painful tests each year. This statistic includes beagles like those at MBR Acres.

We believe that science should never come at the expense of animal suffering. It's time for us as a society to take a stand against such practices and demand better treatment for all animals involved in scientific research.

Both Marshall BioRescources and Envigo (Inotiv) operate in the UK. Both of these businesses have criminal records for animal cruelty, yet are given UK Government Contracts and are funded by the taxpayer.

These Government contracts are to supply and for the use of vivisection laboratories.

Animal cruelty is not acceptable to the British Public and nor should we be made to fund them.

We urge you to join us in calling on relevant authorities to shut down MBR Acres and put an end to the use of beagles in animal testing procedures there. Your signature can make a difference - it can help save innocent lives from unnecessary pain and suffering. Please sign this petition today!
