Golden Paw Pet Resort is a “nonprofit” animal facility in Joplin, MO that allows adoptions, grooming, and boarding. This disgusting place if filled with mice, bugs, and absolute filth. Golden Paw has animals dying and then the animal is left in a room where the food and toxic chemicals are kept until they throw the body in the dumpster. Animals are being kept in rusted kennels stacked on top of each other without secure structuring. The runs outside are rusting so bad that large holes are present in the caging. The animals are kept in cages all day, every day without the cages being cleaned. If the runs do get sprayed clean, the animals are left in with the run and the animal is then soaked; remind you of these cold temperatures in Missouri at this time. The inside kennels don’t have blankets most of the time and some barely have a working space heater. Feces and urine are caked into the animals’ hair due to being kept in a cage all the time, not properly being groomed, and the animal nor the cage being cleaned. The feces and urine have caused a multitude of health issues. The animals begin to grow sick, and it spreads to the other animals in neighboring kennels. The animals are not receiving the proper vet care they all need. The owner Mary Ann Schlau is charging outrageous adoption fees and pocketing a majority of the money. Not to mention the money that is donated to the facility. I have been told by many people that have gotten their animals from here, that they were charged $600 and their dog was filled with worms. The owner is choosing to neglect and abuse these animals. Golden Paw Pet Resort needs to be shut down, the animals need to be moved to a different facility where they can properly be taken care of, and the owner needs to be held accountable for what she has done/doing to these animals. Please sign this petition to help hold Mary Ann Schlau accountable for abusing and neglecting innocent animals. Animals can’t speak to us, so we have to be their voice. Let’s stand up for these poor babies and help them.
