Thank you to everyone who has supported this petition.
I've recently reviewed and updated the petition to make its proposal clearer, more accurate, and better
focused on the people and institutions that can act on it.
The underlying purpose of the petition has not changed. The revised version better defines the problem,
clarifies the action being requested, removes information that is not necessary to make the case, and
reflects additional research and developments that have occurred since the petition was originally
published.
Where appropriate, I have also updated the list of decision-makers so the petition is directed toward
officials and organizations with the authority to address the issue.
I believe advocacy is strongest when it is willing to improve as new information becomes available. These
changes are intended to strengthen the case that supporters originally signed onto, not replace it with a
different cause.
Thank you for lending your name to this effort and for helping demonstrate that this issue matters to
people beyond the person who created the petition.
